Justin W. Andersen, Ph.D., is a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist in Los Angeles, California. He is a valuable member of the Telecare team, providing culturally competent mental health services to adults suffering from severe and persistent mental illness on behalf of the County of Los Angeles Department of Mental Health and the Los Angeles Department of Health Services. Dr. Andersen is also responsible for supervising a team of clinicians, including MFT/Doctoral students, pre/post-doc interns, psych interns, and practicum students, ensuring they provide patients with the highest quality of care.

In addition to his work with Telecare, Dr. Andersen is an Adjunct Faculty member at the prestigious Chicago School of Professional Psychology, where he teaches Clinical Forensic Psychology. He earned his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology in 2017. Dr. Andersen has extensive clinical experience working in community mental health settings, including several county agencies such as the Orange County Behavioral Health Care Agency, Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health, and Los Angeles County Department of Health Services. He has also worked in a medical/healthcare setting, specifically at Providence St. Joseph Health Care and Glendale Adventist Medical Center.

Dr. Andersen's previous career in emergency medicine as an Emergency Medical Technician gives him a unique perspective on healthcare. He worked in an emergency department and assisted in training and developing psychological principles/theories within the emergency room context. His prior research examined the association of violence/aggression in an emergency room. Dr. Andersen also enjoys using applied clinical approaches to assist organizations in evaluating current practices and developing effective workforce productivity and grant writing.

Outside of his work, Dr. Andersen enjoys engaging in various outdoor activities with his husband and two rescue dogs. He is committed to providing the highest quality of care to his patients and is dedicated to advancing the field of clinical psychology through research and teaching.
